Enterprise software development

Enterprise software development services

Azimuthforge is an India-based AI and software engineering company that builds internal enterprise systems: ERP and legacy integration, approval workflows, portals, reporting and AI-assisted tools. We design for role-based access, audit trails and long-term maintainability, and serve organisations in India, the UK, the US, Australia and the UAE.

What is enterprise software development?

Enterprise software development is the building of internal systems for an organisation's own staff: ERP and legacy integration, approval workflows, reporting, audit trails and role-based access. Azimuthforge is an India-based AI and software engineering company that builds enterprise software for organisations in India, the UK, the US, Australia and the UAE.

Enterprise software has to fit existing systems, many user roles and formal controls. It is judged on reliability, auditability and how easily it can be maintained, not on launch-day features alone. We build with those requirements agreed in writing at the start.

Stakeholders in the UK, the US, Australia and the UAE meet us in a daily overlap window in their time zone, where reviews, questions and demonstrations are handled.

Because enterprise projects involve many stakeholders, we document decisions as we go. Scope, acceptance criteria and changes are written down, so approvals are clear and the system can be maintained by people who were not in the room.

What enterprise software does Azimuthforge build?

Azimuthforge builds internal workflow and approval systems, customer, partner and vendor portals, integrations between existing systems, reporting and dashboards, modernisation of legacy tools, and AI-assisted tools for documents and knowledge. Each is delivered with role-based access, audit logging and documentation.

  • Workflow and approval systems that replace email and spreadsheet processes.
  • Portals for customers, partners or vendors, with controlled access.
  • Integrations that connect ERP, CRM, accounting, messaging and legacy systems through APIs.
  • Reporting and dashboards drawn from your operational data.
  • Modernisation of ageing tools, one module at a time, without halting operations.
  • AI-assisted tools, such as document review and internal knowledge assistants. See RAG and LLM development and custom AI development.

How do we build enterprise software that holds up in production?

Azimuthforge builds enterprise software with role-based access, audit trails for sensitive actions, documented APIs, automated testing, staged environments and monitoring. Changes move through review and a staging environment before production, and the system is documented so your team or another vendor can maintain it.

  • Role-based access control matched to your organisational structure.
  • Audit trails recording who changed what and when.
  • Integration resilience. Retries, queues and reconciliation so a failed external system does not lose data.
  • Staged environments and automated tests, so releases are predictable.
  • Incremental delivery. Working modules go live in sequence, reducing risk.
  • Documentation and handover, including architecture notes and runbooks.

Where a legacy system cannot be replaced at once, we build around it first, move one process at a time, and keep the old system running until the new module is accepted.

Custom enterprise software or off-the-shelf: how do you decide?

Off-the-shelf enterprise software suits standard processes where a mature product already fits. Custom software suits processes that are specific to your organisation, need integration across several systems, or would require heavy customisation of a packaged product. Azimuthforge gives a written recommendation, including when to buy.

Proof from our own work

Azimuthforge builds systems that handle money, documents and operations in production. Restrofi runs billing, payments and an offline-capable point-of-sale, InvoiceAI validates invoices with an audit trail, and for EatSafe Legal we built AI-assisted contract review. Our own back office handles invoicing and online booking.

  • Restrofi (restrofi.com): billing, payments, kitchen display, WhatsApp order updates and a Windows point-of-sale app that keeps billing working offline.
  • InvoiceAI (invoiceai.tech): reads and validates invoices and reconciles them with an audit trail.
  • EatSafe Legal, our client: AI-assisted review of aggregator contracts and the web platform for compliance software serving Indian restaurants.
  • azimuthforge.com: a client back office with a client portal, a partner portal, invoicing and online booking.

How does an enterprise software project work?

An Azimuthforge enterprise project runs in six stages: discovery and written scope, architecture and security review, design, incremental build, acceptance testing with your team, and rollout with support. You approve scope and acceptance criteria in writing, and modules go live in sequence rather than in one release.

  1. Discovery. Processes, users, systems, constraints and acceptance criteria.
  2. Architecture and security review. Data model, integrations, access model and hosting.
  3. Design. Workflows and screens, reviewed with the people who will use them.
  4. Incremental build. Working modules delivered in cycles.
  5. Acceptance testing. Your team verifies each module against the agreed criteria.
  6. Rollout and support. Training, migration of data, monitoring and a support agreement.

Acceptance criteria are agreed before a module is built, so testing is a check against a shared definition rather than a debate about expectations.

What drives the cost of enterprise software?

The cost of enterprise software depends mainly on the number of processes and user roles covered, the number and quality of systems to integrate, data migration, reporting needs, and compliance and security requirements. Azimuthforge prices each project or module from a written scope.

  • Number of workflows, user roles and approval levels.
  • Number of integrations, and the quality of the APIs on the other side.
  • Data migration and cleaning from legacy systems.
  • Reporting and dashboard requirements.
  • Security, audit and compliance requirements, including data residency.
  • Hosting model and ongoing support level.

Every engagement is priced from a written scope after discovery, so you approve a fixed price before the build starts.

Security, ownership and data protection

On Azimuthforge enterprise projects, the client owns the code and environments, access is role-based and logged, and personal data is handled in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. For overseas organisations we design with UK GDPR and GDPR in mind, and can deploy in the client's own cloud account.

  • You own the code, the environments and the data.
  • Deployment in your cloud account where your policies require it, including regional hosting choices.
  • Least privilege and audit logging for administrative and sensitive actions.
  • Documented handover, so you are never dependent on us to operate the system.
  • No certification claim. We design for data-protection law as a consideration; Azimuthforge does not hold ISO or SOC 2 certification, and we will complete your vendor security questionnaire honestly.

FAQ

Enterprise software development: common questions.

How much does enterprise software development cost?

The cost depends on the number of workflows and user roles, the integrations and data migration involved, reporting needs, and security requirements. Azimuthforge prices each project or module from a written scope, so you approve a fixed price before the build starts.

Can you integrate with our existing ERP, CRM or legacy systems?

Yes. We integrate through APIs where they exist and through the database or file exchange where they do not. Integrations are built with retries and reconciliation, so a failure in one system does not silently lose data. ERP, CRM and accounting systems are typically reached through their published APIs.

Do we own the source code?

Yes. You own the source code, the environments and the data. We deliver architecture documentation and runbooks, and can continue to maintain the system or hand it to your team or another vendor. Runbooks cover deployment, backups and restoring service after a failure.

Can the software be hosted in our own cloud account?

Yes. We can deploy into your cloud account and choose regions to match your data-residency requirements, including keeping data in India where a sector requires it. Access for our engineers can be granted through your own identity and permission controls and removed at handover.

How do you work with teams in the UK, US, Australia or UAE?

Azimuthforge works from India and keeps a daily overlap window in your time zone for reviews, decisions and demonstrations. Clients follow milestones and updates in our client portal, with decisions and acceptance sign-offs recorded alongside them.

Do you provide support after go-live?

Yes. Support agreements cover monitoring, security updates, bug fixes and enhancements, with agreed response arrangements. Modules go live in sequence, so support begins with the first release rather than at the end. Runbooks written during the build guide whoever is on call.
